Did you know that the creator of the famous coin bitcoin may or may not be a Japanese? His true identity is a mystery, but he calls himself Satoshi Nakamoto. The fact that the pseudonym is Japanese may indicate that he is Japanese or of Japanese descent. But it is not possible to identify his real name, nor if he is just a person.
In 2008 he presented the bitcoin concept in a discussion group called Cryptography Mailing, and launched the following year. Nakamoto Satoshi's participation is currently unknown, as in 2010 he gradually disappeared and left his project in the hands of other members. Some claim he has 1 million bitcoin. (1.9 trillion yen 12/2017).
Some consider Nakamoto an anarchist, particularly the government and central bank who don't like the idea of using cryptocurrencies. He was even nominated for the Nobel Prize in Economics for the creation of bitcoin, of course he could not reveal his true identity, both because of his fortune and because of the threat from the government.
Who is Satoshi Nakamoto?
According to your profile on P2P Foundation, Nakamoto claimed to be a 37-year-old man living in Japan. Since no reference to the Japanese language was made in his theses, some question whether he is really a Japanese. Some claim that it is impossible for just one person to have created bitcoin, they claim that Satoshi is a group.
In the meantime some people appeared claiming to be Satoshi Nakamoto, others were named as him. Many took advantage of their identity to generate publicity or earn bitcoin donations. Names like Nick Szabo, Hal Finney and many others appeared on the internet being nominated as Satoshi Nakamoto.
In 2014 a magazine claims that a 64-year-old Japanese man named Dorian Nakamoto is Satoshi's true identity. Dorian denies being Nakamoto, until after 5 years without activity, Nakamoto's profile also denies being Dorian. Some mathematicians and teachers from all over the world have appeared several times to call themselves Satoshi.
As your name appears in roman letters, we don't know the correct way to spell it. It is believed to be 中本哲史, but the Japanese wiki itself refuses to use ideograms to represent satoshi and puts his name written in katakana: サトシ・ナカモト
