Did you know that the creator of the famous currency bit-coin may or may not be Japanese? His true identity is a mystery, but he identifies himself as Satoshi Nakamoto. The fact that the pseudonym is Japanese may indicate that he is Japanese or a descendant of Japanese. However, it is not possible to identify his real name, nor if he is just one person.
In 2008 he presented the concept of bitcoin in a discussion group called Cryptography Mailing, and launched it the following year. Nakamoto Satoshi’s current involvement is unknown, as he gradually disappeared in 2010 and left his project in the hands of other members. Some claim that he has 1 million bitcoins. (1.9 trillion yen 12/2017).

Some consider Nakamoto an anarchist, especially the government and the central bank that do not like the idea of using cryptocurrencies. He was even nominated for the Nobel Prize in Economics for the creation of bitcoin, of course, he could not reveal his true identity, both for his fortune and for the threat from the government.
Who is Satoshi Nakamoto?
According to his profile on the P2P Foundation, Nakamoto claimed to be a 37-year-old man living in Japan. Since no reference to the Japanese language was made in his theses, some question whether he is really Japanese. Some claim that it is impossible for just one person to have created bitcoin; they argue that Satoshi is a group.
In the meantime, some people have come forward claiming to be Satoshi Nakamoto, while others have been pointed out as being him. Many have taken advantage of his identity to generate publicity or gain bitcoin donations. Names like Nick Szabo, Hal Finney, and many others have appeared online being indicated as Satoshi Nakamoto.

In 2014 a magazine claimed that a 64-year-old Japanese man named Dorian Nakamoto is the true identity of Satoshi. Dorian denies being Nakamoto, and after 5 years of inactivity, Nakamoto’s profile also denies being Dorian. Some mathematicians and professors from around the world have appeared several times to claim to be Satoshi.
As his name appears in Roman letters, we do not know the correct way to write it. It is believed to be 中本哲史, but the Japanese wiki itself refuses to use ideograms to represent Satoshi and writes his name in katakana: サトシ・ナカモト
