If you like dinosaur and are in Japan, a great sightseeing tip is the Dinosaur Museum. Located in the city of Katsuyama, Fukui Prefecture. It is the largest museum of its kind in Japan and is considered one of the best in the world. Almost 700,000 people visit its facilities every year. The main building of the museum is shaped like a dome, having 4 floors.
The museum was officially inaugurated in July 2000. And since then it has been attracting a large number of visitors and tourists. The entrance costs around 720 yen. This museum is known as the “kingdom of dinosaurs“. In the city, there is also the largest excavation site in the country. A few kilometers from the museum is the active Dinosaur Research International Center.

Attractions of the Dinosaur Museum
More than 4.6 billion years of Earth’s history are explained in a very didactic and interactive way for both children and adults. The main exhibition, called ”Dinosaur World”, contains more than 40 skeletons of dinosaurs of all types. One of them is the skeleton of the Camarasaurus, discovered in the United States.
