Protagonists are always judged by their appearance, most of the time, protagonists with white hair are always overestimated and the expectations on them are high. Fortunately, on many occasions, the expectations are met.
In others, the expectations remain only in the realm of imagination and are completely frustrated by a bad protagonist. But there’s no use worrying, these cases are the minority. Most anime have protagonists that stand out, but this type manages to excel. After all, as the legend says, “if you have white hair, you are powerful.”
And this often becomes true through various Overpower characters that the anime universe possesses. So to satisfy a bit of this curiosity, here is an exclusive list of anime with white-haired protagonists. So let’s get to the point.

Kiznaiver
Katsuhira Agata is a quiet and reserved teenager whose feelings have disappeared. Thus, his behavior makes Katsuhira an easy target for bullies, who exploit him and trade him for money.
However, one day Katsuhira, his childhood friend, and four other teenagers are kidnapped and forced to join the Kizuna System. Those who participate are connected through pain: if one member is hurt, the others will feel an equal amount of agony.
These individuals must become guinea pigs for an incomplete system designed to achieve world peace. With their destinies literally linked, they must expose their true selves to each other, or risk failing much more than just the Kizuna System.

Opening the list with one of the most unique proposals in anime. Few clichés are used in this anime, and the plot always manages to surprise the audience. The protagonist may not be the most charismatic, but he has a significant role in the story. In addition, there is a very good romance to watch.
Tokyo ghoul
Tokyo has become a cruel and merciless city – a place where evil creatures called “ghouls” exist alongside humans. The citizens of this once-great metropolis live in constant fear of these bloodthirsty savages and their hunger for human flesh.
Tokyo Ghoul follows Ken Kaneki, a shy and studious college student, who is quickly drawn to Rize Kamishiro, an avid reader like him. However, Rize is not exactly who she seems, and this encounter throws Kaneki into the dark depths of the inhuman world of ghouls.

There is a small problem with this anime. It doesn’t start with white hair from the beginning. Unfortunately, he only gets white hair almost at the end of the season, but it’s worth waiting for this to happen because the scene is one of the most epic that exists. And after this event, he becomes very strong and badass.
Dungeon ni deai
Life in the bustling city of Orario is never monotonous, especially for Bell Cranel, a young man who hopes to become the greatest adventurer in the land. After a chance encounter with the lonely goddess, Hestia, his dreams become a little closer to reality.
With her support, Bell embarks on a fantastic quest as he ventures into the depths of the city’s monster-filled dungeons.

Comments on Dungeon ni deai
One of the most naive and innocent protagonists of all time. Of course, there will always be the protagonist from To Love-Ru, but this one is quite comparable. Fortunately, what he lacks in experience he makes up for in power. But I must emphasize that this is one of the few anime that gives a great excuse to use a frequent cliché.
SaiJaku muhai no bahamut
Lux, a former prince of an empire called Arcadia, which was overthrown by a rebellion five years ago, accidentally invades the bath area of a girls’ dormitory, and there he sees the new princess of the kingdom, naked.
The princess, in a fit of rage, challenges Lux to a Drag-Ride duel. Drag-Rides are ancient armored mechanical weapons that have been excavated from ruins around the world. However, Lux used to be called the strongest Drag-Knight, but now he is known as the “weak Invincible.”

Comments on SaiJaku muhai no bahamut
I still haven’t seen any other cliché being used in such an original way. Normally, protagonists invade the girls’ bath through the door, but this guy accidentally managed to invade through the roof. But anyway, the important thing is that the protagonist looks visually like a child, but has a power that can scare any adult.
Seikon no qwaser
After a horrible day, the adopted sisters Mafuyu Oribe and Tomo Yamanobe come across an injured young man and decide to bring him home to recover. That same night, Mafuyu finds herself at the mercy of the infamous serial killer. Strangely, he does not demand her life, but rather an icon left by Tomo’s father.
Fortunately, Sasha, the mysterious young man that the sisters had taken in, comes to the rescue and helps Mafuyu avoid the same fate as the other victims. Sasha reveals that he is a Qwaser, an individual capable of controlling scientific elements by participating in Soma, a miraculous essence found in women’s breasts.

I think I’ve already made a list of the best ecchis, and this one is at the spiciest part of the list. Yes, this anime is nothing more than a spicy ecchi. Where the protagonist uses the excuse of gaining power to suck on the girls’ breasts. I found it quite original, and of course, it’s on my favorites list. I want to emphasize that I liked the story and not the spicy parts (it’s true).
Strike the blood
Kojou Akatsuki’s days as an ordinary high school student in the Demon District of Itogami Island come to an abrupt end after a fateful encounter leaves him with the remarkable abilities of a vampire.
It doesn’t take long for him to be thrust into the spotlight when it is discovered that he is the fourth primogenitor, an immensely powerful vampire that most consider merely a legend.
Fearing Kojou’s destructive potential, the Lion King Organization sends a sword shaman apprentice to monitor him, and if he becomes a threat, to kill the boy. However, the two form an unlikely alliance when Kojou accepts his abilities. Thus, both fight to protect the city from various emerging chaotic forces.

If the protagonist didn’t have a giant harem, which I consider one of the best in all anime, he wouldn’t be here. Of course, there are other strong points, such as the combat power of the MC and his hot scenes. But his story is quite common, in fact, full of clichés, but original in several parts.
Dansai bunri no crime edge
Kiri Haimura has an obsession with cutting hair. This bizarre trait is what leads him to seek a long-haired ghost that lives in an abandoned house on a hill. However, he encounters a beautiful girl with long hair, whose hair cannot be cut due to a family curse.
Iwai explains that there is a death game surrounding her, and if she is killed by a cursed object called “Killing Good,” the user will have their wish granted.

Comments on Dansai bunri no crime edge
This was one of the first anime where the protagonist is obsessed with cutting hair. I mean, to this day I haven’t seen another anime with this theme (this is indeed an original anime). But the most important thing is that despite the MC apparently only liking to cut hair, he discovers several other skills. This makes him very strong as the episodes progress.
Suisei no gargantia
In a distant future, most humans have left Earth, and the Galactic Alliance of Humanity was founded to guide exploration and ensure humanity’s prosperity. However, a significant threat arises in the form of strange creatures called Hideauze, resulting in an interstellar war to prevent humanity’s extinction.
Armed with Chamber, an autonomous robot, 16-year-old Lieutenant Ledo of the Galactic Alliance joins the battle against the monsters. In an unfortunate turn of events, Ledo loses control during the battle and is launched to the far reaches of space, landing on a flooded Earth.
On the blue planet, Gargantia – a large fleet of cleaning ships – encounters Chamber and retrieves it from the ocean, thinking they have recovered something valuable. Mistaking their actions for hostility, Ledo flees aboard and takes a young messenger named Amy hostage, only to realize that the residents of Gargantia are not so dangerous.

Well, we already know that he is the strongest in this land, but is he the strongest in the universe? But that question doesn’t matter, the important thing is the graphics of this anime which are beautiful, at least I think so. Besides this, there is a good romance for restless fans who are always looking for a good couple to fantasize about.
Mushishi
“Mushi”: the most basic forms of life in the world. They exist without any goals or purposes other than simply “being.” They are beyond the shackles of the words “good” and “evil.” Mushi can exist in countless forms and is capable of imitating things from the natural world, such as plants, diseases, and even phenomena like rainbows.
This is, however, just a vague definition of these entities that inhabit the vibrant world of Mushishi, as even calling them a form of life would be an excessive simplification. Detailed information about Mushi is scarce because most humans are unaware of their existence.
So, what are Mushi and why do they exist? This is the question that a “Mushishi,” Ginko, constantly ponders. Mushishi are those who research Mushi in the hope of understanding their place in the hierarchy of life in the world.

Comment on Mushishi
If you are looking for an action anime, this one is not recommended. Because Mushishi is a totally slow anime with almost no exciting scenes. I believe that for those who do not like psychological anime, they might fall asleep watching this one. But for those who enjoy reflecting and learning various moral lessons, this is one of the best for that purpose.
Jormungand
Raised in a conflict environment, Jonathan “Jonah” hates weapons. But when Koko Hekmatyar, an international arms dealer, takes Jonah on as one of her bodyguards, he has no choice but to pick up arms.
Together with other bodyguards of Koko, composed mainly of former special operations soldiers, Jonah is now tasked with protecting Koko and her overly idealistic goal of world peace from the numerous dangers that come from her line of work.

Comments on Jormungand
Let’s say there is a giant inconsistency in the protagonist’s life. Despite not liking weapons, he cannot survive without one by his side. Besides this problem, the anime has good stories, it’s a shame that some are extremely rushed and poorly told. But the protagonist has many strong points and always surpasses himself.
Other anime with white-haired protagonists
Since the list of white-haired protagonists is large and my patience is short to present them all at once, I will leave some extras here. Of course, I will not include all that exist, because of this I advise you to leave in the comments those that are not on the list. But anyway, let’s go to the list:
- Devil may cry
- Trinity Blood
- Inuyasha
- Gintama
- Blazblue alter memory
- Chaos dragon
- World trigger
- Vampire Knight
- Zetai karen children hyoubu kyousuke
- D-gray man
Do you know others with white hair?
