In this article, we will see a complete list of verbs of the Japanese language N5 JLPT. Remembering that verbs can have other uses and meanings, according to the sentence and may not be present in this list. It is up to you to interpret and get the feeling of each verb.

N5 verbs

  • 会う (au) - to meet
  • 開く (aku / hikaru) - open   (shops, flowers)
  • 開ける (akeru) - Open
  • あげる (ageru) - give
  • 遊ぶ (asobu) - to play
  • 浴びる (abiru) - take a bath
  • 洗う (arau) - to wash
  • 有る (aru) - be, have, exist
  • ある (aru) - to possess
  • 歩く (aruku) - walking (on foot)
  • 言う (iu) - means, to say
  • 行く (iku) - go
  • いる (iru) - need, refuge must be required
  • いる (iru) - exist
  • 入れる (ireru) - insert, place, enter
  • 歌う (utau) - sing
  • 生まれる (umareru) - born, arise
  • 売る (uru) - sell
  • 起きる (okiru) - Wake up
  • おく (oku) - put on

  • 覚える (oboeru) - memorize, remember

  • 借りる (kariru) - borrow
  • 消える (kieru) - disappear
  • 聞く (kiku) - to hear

  • 来る (kuru) - vir
  • 消す (kesu) - erase, turn off
  • 答える (kotaeru) - answer
  • 困る (komaru) - difficulty, problems

  • 違う (chigau) - differ, wrong, that's not it
  • 使う (tsukau) - to use (e.g. computers, phones...)
  • 疲れる (tsukareru) - tired out
  • 着く (tsuku) - to arrive
  • 作る (tsukuru) - make, produce
  • 点ける (tsukeru) - turn on light, turn on
  • 勤める (tsutomeru) - work, serve (someone)
