In this article, I will share my favorite anime openings of all time. Of course, over time, epic openings appear that can replace or enter my top 10, as was the case with the opening of Darling in the Franxx and Steins;Gate Zero, which I have been listening to practically every day. In this article, I will keep the old ones from my list.

I hope you also share your favorite openings list in the comments of this article. Let’s get started! I will leave the list (with more than 10) and the videos below the list in case you want to watch. I don’t like to beat around the bush…

  • Departure – Hunter x Hunter
  • Hikaru Nara – Shigatsu wa kimi no uso
  • Zankoku na Tenshi no Teeze – Evangelion
  • Sekai wa koi ni ochiteiru – Ao Haru Ride
  • Rain SID – Fullmetal Alchemist Brotherhood | Period | Again
  • Uchuu Kyoudai – OP 1 and OP 8
  • My Dearest – Guilty Crown
  • Irony – Ore no Imouto ga konnani kawaii wake ga nai
  • Try Again – Detective Conan
  • Friendship – Sukitte Ii na Yo
  • Bravely You – Charlotte
  • Kanashii Ureshii – Koi to Uso

Departure – Hunter x Hunter

Some get tired of hearing the same opening song in 148 episodes, but I liked it a lot and thought it fits perfectly with the transitions of the anime. The opening Departure is sung by Masatoshi Ono, who was born in 1967 and is known as the vocalist of the band Galneryus. The same band that sings the second ending of the anime, which is also epic.

Sekai wa koi ni ochiteiru – Ao Haru Ride

I don’t know why I liked this song so much that I chose the name of the site Suki Desu, even though this expression appears only once in the song, but in a penetrating way. It is a very popular song in Japan and in karaoke, and it was created by CHiCO with HoneyWorks.

Rain SID – Fullmetal Alchemist Brotherhood | Period | Again

Fullmetal Alchemist Brotherhood is one of the most epic animes of all time. People prefer the first openings like Again and Period, which are also very good, but my favorite is probably the least popular, the last opening called Rain sung by SID.

Zankoku na Tenshi no Teeze – Evangelion

Most people already know this song; it is one of the most popular in Japan, basically the most sung song in karaoke and one of the most popular of all time sung by Yoko Takahashi. I haven’t even watched the anime and I know practically the whole song word for word.

Hikaru Nara – Shigatsu wa kimi no uso

Goose House is one of my favorite Japanese bands, mainly because of this opening and the ending of the anime Gin no Saji oto no naru hou e. This band is famous for doing covers on YouTube; the way they sing in sync is very good and gives a more natural feel to the music:

Uchuu Kyoudai – OP 1 and OP 8

The anime Uchuu Kyoudai is one of my favorites, and I really like the first opening (Feel so Moon) and especially the eighth: B.B by THE Yatou

Friendship – Sukitte Ii na Yo

The first time I heard this song, I had a slight impression of having heard it somewhere else. And indeed, this same song appears in the anime Love Hina, which is quite old. It was difficult to find this song on YouTube; probably copyright issues are weighing heavily. This song is sung by Okazaki Ritsuko and the two versions are a bit different.

Irony – Ore no Imouto ga Konnani Kawaii Wake ga Nai

One of my favorite animes features one of my favorite songs sung by the band Claris, which also sings the opening of Ero Manga Sensei. The best part of this opening is that each episode of the anime had different transitions, a different opening for each episode. I will leave 2 versions of the song, the original and another that I also think is pretty cool.

Try Again – Detective Conan

Mai Kuraki is famous for singing various songs from the famous anime detective conan. My favorite is Try Again, the opening number 35. I also really like the ending koi ni koishite.

My Dearest – Guilty Crown

I don’t have much to describe about this opening, just listen to this masterpiece by Koeda, Supercell.
