In this article, I want to talk a little about Telegram and how it can help you study Japanese, consume otaku content like animes and mangas, in addition to the numerous tools that Telegram bots enable.

For those who don’t know, Telegram is a messaging app like WhatsApp, but much superior. With it, you can easily find channels and groups about topics of your interest or perform functions through bots that allow you to download music, translate, take quizzes, and find interesting information.

On my website kevinbk.com, I wrote an article listing thousands of bots for telegram, you can read it by clicking here. For those who don’t know, bots are robots that perform a certain predefined function. Anyone can create a bot on Telegram.

Instead of writing separate articles to suggest tips and bots for Japanese students and another for otakus, I decided to do everything in just one article. I hope you enjoy the article! If you liked it, share it and leave comments!

How to study Japanese with Telegram?

We know that the predominant messenger in Japan is Line. Fortunately, Telegram has a strong presence in Brazil and around the world, which brings together various students of the Japanese language in one place.

One way to study Japanese through Telegram would be to join a channel or group chat of Japanese language students or just speakers of the language. This way, you can exchange ideas and learn more.

You can also do this on WhatsApp and Line, but Telegram has many more functionalities for group chat, in addition to the bots that allow you to perform a function in real-time or in a separate chat.

You can, for example, subscribe to our Suki Desu chat to receive notifications of new articles or ask questions directly on your Telegram. To join our Telegram chat, just access https://t.me/skdesu

Telegram Bots for Japanese Students

It is possible to learn Japanese and other languages with the thousands of bots available on the platform. See below the main bots I recommend for Japanese students:

  • @YTranslateBot – Translate texts from various languages without leaving Telegram;
  • @TranslationChatBot – Translates the conversation of a group;
  • @YTranslateBot – Great for quickly translating phrases or expressions;
  • @PhotosetterBot – OCR tool (extract text from images);
  • @PronunciatonBot – Sends audio with the correct pronunciation of a text in various languages;

The bots mentioned above can help when communicating with Japanese people through the app or other Japanese students. Remember that in Japan, Line is much more popular, so try to use it instead of Telegram.

  • @japandictbot – Japanese dictionary on Telegram;

Another bot that does reverse searches for animes is @reversesearchbot. With the bot @AnimagramBot, you can download your favorite animes in Portuguese directly on Telegram and watch them on various different servers.
