Synopsis: Guts, a man who will one day be known as the black swordsman, is a young mercenary who travels characterized by the great sword he carries. He accepts jobs that offer more money, but never has a group for long - until he meets the Falcão band. Ambossa after completing a job, Guts crushes many of its members in combat. Griffith, the band of Falcon leader and founder, is interested in courage and duel. While the others are not corresponding to courage, Griffith defeats him at once.

Disabled and taken to the Falcon camp band to recover, Guts wakes up two days later. He confronts Griffith, and the two duels once again, only this time with one condition: courage will join the Falcon band if he loses. Due to his new injuries, Guts loses the fight and is introduced by Griffith.

In three years, Guts has become one of the commanders of the Hawk band. On the battlefield, their combat features are lost only for Griffith, while he takes large groups of enemies on his own. With Guts' immense strength and Griffith's lead, Falcão's band dominates all the battles in which they participated. But something threatening hides in the shadows, threatening to change the life of guts forever.
