Synopsis: In a constant world of war between humans and witches, there is the "bestial fall" - the humans bearded humans born with the appearance and strength of an animal. Its physical prowess and bestial nature make them feared and avoided by humans and witches. As a result, many beasts that fall become the words of sale, earning life through hunted witches.

Despite the enmity between the races, a cheerful witch named Zero asks for a beasts she refers to as a "mercenary" to act as her protector.
