When the earth is threatened by a fleet of alien invaders known as Oni, Ataru is selected to represent humanity in a duel against one of them. It is a rare luck for Ataru that the duel is indeed a tag game and that his opponent is Lum, daughter of the leader of Oni, who puts his personal dignity above victory - as Ataru discovers by taking advantage of the top of bikini of Lum and with that, victory.

However, misfortune takes action again when Lum confuses Aaru's promise to marry his girlfriend, Shinobu Miyake, as the desire to marry Lum, and decides that she likes the idea. Wielding her influence as an alien princess, she moves with him.
