Synopsis: Earth's green hills and the rich blue oceans were converted into deserted terrain by the relentless attack of bombs on the planet of the expansionist Empire Gamilas. Until the year 2199, humanity retreated to the depths of underground cities to escape radiation.
However, all hope is not lost, for the distant planet is histent offers the Earth its final salvation: the reverse cosmos system, capable of restoring the irradiated surface of the earth. In a desperate attempt to recover this technology from the Iscanar, the Earth's defense force sheds its remaining resources on the latest Yamato-Yamato and state-of-the-art war equipped with an infinite energy wave motion engine.
From young talents such as tactical officer Susumu Kodai to talented veterans like Captain Juuzou Okita, the Yamato team consists of many individuals, all varying in their battlefield experience. But despite their differences, one goal unifies all of them: to complete their dangerous 168,000 light-year-olds to be sorted and save humanity from imminent destruction.
