Shigurui

Synopsis: At the beginning of the Edo era, when people enjoyed a time of peace, Lord Tokugawa Tadanaga holds a fighting tournament. In the past, the matches were locked with wooden swords. This time, real swords will be used.

Fujiki Gennosuke of an arm and blind Irako Seigen will fight each other in this match. Both are disciples of Iwamoto Kogan, known as the largest swordsman in Japan. Each is determined to prove to himself the successor of the Iwamoto school. However, there can only be one champion.

Thus begins a history of intertwined destinations, conflicts and strange destinations.

    Summary and events

    1. The story takes place in feudal Japan during the Edo period.
    2. Fujiki Gennosuke and Irako Seigen are two samurai who fight for the love of a woman named Iku.
    3. They are summoned to participate in a deadly duel at Iku Castle, organized by the Kogan clan leader.
    4. During the duel, Gennosuke and Seigen fight to death, with Gennosuke coming out victorious.
    5. However, it is severely injured and is blinded.
    6. Seigen survives and is taken to be treated by a woman named Mie.
    7. He recovers and begins to train with Mie, who is a master in martial arts.
    8. Meanwhile, Gennosuke is forced to become a blind monk and lives in imprisonment.
    9. Years later, Seigen returns to the Kogan clan and challenges Gennosuke to a new duel.
    10. They fight again, but this time Seigen is the winner.
