Synopsis: Mahiru Shirota firmly believes that simple things are the best and problematic should be avoided at all costs. It is problematic to do nothing and regret it later and this ideology led the 15-year-old to catch a bumped cat on the way home from the school. As he affectionately names the feline Kuro, little he knows that this chance meeting will trigger an extraordinary change in his daily life.
One day Mahiru comes home to find something quite strange: a mysterious young man he has never seen before. Its subsequent panic results in the guest being exposed to the sunlight and - a lot to the shock of Mahiru - becoming kuro! In revealing himself as a mere lazy vampire, Kuro promises to leave when the night falls. However, one disaster after another leads Mahiru accidentally to form a contract with his new freeloader, dragging him into a life-threatening battle of supernatural servants and blood-thirsty beings that is anything but simple.
