Synopsis: In feudal Japan, the people of Edo are besieged by giant insects that devastated the earth. People desperately beg the government to do something about it. Thus, the office of insect magistrates is established, bringing together strong warriors to defend against the beginning of the pests.

Mushibugyou follows Jinbee Tsukishima, a young man who strives to be a sword -master like his father. To atone for a horrible incident that occurred by his fault, Jinbee seeks to take his father's place as a member of the insect magistrate office. On his journey there, he meets the lovely Haru, a young woman who helps manage her family's tea house and is forced to use her sword in good use to save her from a terrible destination. This act of bravery that gives him a place in the insect magistrate. Will this novice exterminator be able to rid the land of the horde of insects that swarmed?
