    In the work "Kagami no Kojou" (Castle of Glass), the ending reveals that the protagonist, Kengo, discovers that he is actually a being called the "Guardian" and his role is to protect the glass castle, which is the world of humans, from being invaded by evil creatures. He also finds out that his childhood friend, Ayaka, is actually one of the creatures he needs to protect the castle from and ends up facing her in a final battle. In the end, Kengo manages to defeat Ayaka and save the castle, but in doing so, he also discovers that his own existence is linked to the castle and that he will need to choose between becoming the permanent Guardian of the castle or sacrificing himself to save Ayaka. Kengo ends up choosing to sacrifice himself to save Ayaka, only to find out that Ayaka is the one who rescues and protects him, allowing them both to find peace together. The story ends with Kengo and Ayaka living in peace in the glass castle, protecting it together.
