Hakuouki

Synopsis: In 1864, Japan, a young woman named Chizuru Yukimura is looking for her missing father, Kourou, a doctor by profession whose work often takes him away from home. But with no word of him in months, Chizuru disguises herself as a man and heads to Kyoto in search of him. Attracting Ronin's attention, she tries to hide and ends up witnessing a horrible view: Ronin being brutally murdered by crazy white -haired men. In a surprising turn of events, Shinsengumi members arrive to dispatch the creatures. But Chizuru's security does not last long, as this group of men ties her and takes her back to headquarters, not knowing if she let her live or silence it permanently.

However, once she reveals her father's name, the Shinsengumi decide to keep him safe, as they are also looking for him. But Kourou is more connected to Shinsengumi than they have shown, and soon Chizuru is involved in a conflict between Shinsengumi and his enemies, as well as political tension in Kyoto.

    Summary and events

    4. Chizuru discovers that his father was a doctor who worked for Shinsengumi and that he disappeared after discovering a formula for creating an elixir of life.
    5. She joins Shinsengumi as a medical assistant and begins to investigate her father's disappearance.
    6. Chizuru engages in various conflicts with the rebels and the imperial government.
    7. She also falls in love with one of Shinsengumi members, Hijikata Toshizo.
    8. Chizuru discovers that his father was kidnapped by a group of rebels who want to use the Elixir formula for their own purposes.
    9. She and Shinsengumi rescue her father, but he dies shortly after due to the side effects of the formula.

    What happens in the end?

    At the end of Hakuouki's manga, the story follows the route of Hijikata Toshizo, where he and Shinsengumi fight against the imperial government and the samurai near them. Hijikata and Chizuru confess to each other, but Hijikata ends up dying in the final battle. Chizuru is left alone, but decides to continue to live his life like a Oni.
