Meaning of Dragon Ball

Let's look at the translation of each word and explanation of the anime's name:

ドラゴンボール
  • ドラゴン - Dragon
  • ボール - Sphere
The title "ドラゴンボール" (Dragon Ball) refers to the Dragon Spheres, which are magical objects central to the anime's plot. Each sphere is capable of granting a wish when all seven are gathered together. The story follows Gokuu Son and Bulma on their journey to collect these spheres, facing challenges and strengthening their abilities along the way. The search for the Dragon Spheres symbolizes the human desire for fulfillment and dreams, while dragons represent power and, sometimes, the dangers associated with that power.
