In the end of Brave Story, the protagonist Wataru finally manages to gather the five legendary jewels and confront the evil god, so that he grants the wish to change the destiny of his best friend, Mitsuru, who is between life and death. During the final battle, Wataru faces various challenges and manages to defeat the evil god. As a result, he has the opportunity to make his wish. However, instead of choosing to save Mitsuru, Wataru decides to wish that all the worlds affected by the actions of the evil god are restored and all their inhabitants have a new chance at life. With his wish granted, Wataru wakes up in the real world and realizes that everything has been restored. He reunites with his friends and everyone is living happily and in peace. However, he does not remember his journey in the Land of Vision and Adventure, but keeps in his heart the memory of his experiences and lessons.
