To atone for his crimes, Manji decides to kill a thousand bad men. Yaobikuni agrees with this proposal, saying that if he is successful, she will undo her curse of immortality. Shortly after this promise, Manji meets Rin Asano, a 16 -year -old girl who asks Manji's assistance to kill those who killed her parents.
Initially reluctant, Manji refuses Rin's desperate appeal. However, due to his obvious lack of strength, Manji changes his mind and agrees to protect Rin for four years. With this partnership established in Stone, the two embark on a dangerous journey of bloodshed, revenge and redemption, each to fulfill the cause of their own life.
