Synopsis: Koyomi Araragi, a third year of high school, can survive a vampire attack with the help of Meme Oshino, a strange man who resides in an abandoned building. Although they have been saved from vampirism and now a human again, various side effects, such as skills on healing and enhanced vision, still remain. Regardless of this, Araragi tries to live the life of a normal student with the help of his friend and class president Tsubasa Hanekawa.

When colleague Hitagi Senjougahara falls into the stairs and is caught by Araragi, the boy realizes that the girl is unnatural weight. Despite Senjougahara's protests, Araragi insists that he helps her, deciding to recruit Oshino's help, the man who has helped him with his own situation.

Through various tales involving demons and gods, Bakemonogatari follows Araragi as he tries to help those suffering from supernatural diseases.
