Muv-Luv Alternative: Total Eclipse
Synopsis: In 1973, after the six-year-old cruel war, hostile alien species known as Extra Earth's beta-beans, which are adversaries of the human race on earth, killing billions and decimating Eurasia. Although beta can be destroyed with conventional weapons, its laser class is capable of ending entire aircraft fleets, forcing humanity to develop giant combat suits called Tactical Surface Fighters (TSF) to combat them.
When the Beta version arrives in Japan in 1998, a student of military schools and TSF - or Eishi - Yui Takamura pilot is sentenced to defend Kyoto's latest line of defense with his classmates. At the expense of numerous human lives and the sacrifice of Yui's friends, the Japanese imperial army can repel the invaders, leaving destruction in their trail. However, this meeting makes Yui determined to never allow something like this to happen.
Three years later, now lieutenant, Yui joins the XFJ project, an Alaska Japan-American development program. In an international team made up of the Nipo-American Non-American Yuuya Bridges and several Eishi cooperative test pilot of Lost countries for Beta, Yui's task is to help develop the new Japanese TSF Shiranui. In the midst of political tensions inherited from the Cold War, MuV-Lu's alternative: Total Eclipse follows Yui's delicate mission and Yuuya's journey to overcome the demons of the past that still haunt him.
