Synopsis: Kazuya Kinoshita is a 20-year-old university student who has a wonderful girlfriend: the bright and sunny mami nanami. But suddenly, he doesn't. Without warning, Mami dumps him, leaving him utterly heartbroken and lonely. Seeking to ease the pain, he hires a rental girlfriend through an online application. His partner is Chizuru Mizuhara, who through her unrivaled beauty and cute demeanor, manages to win Kazuya's affection.
But after reading similar experiences other customers have had with Chizuru, Kazuya believes her warm smile and caring personality were just an act to play with her heart, and he rates her low. Pleased, Chizuru criticizes him for his blatant hypocrisy, revealing his close and hot-tempered true self. This one-sided exchange is cut short, however, when Kazuya discovers that his grandmother has collapsed.
They rushed towards the hospital and found Kazuya's grandmother already in good condition. Left with Chizuru's presence, she asks who this girl might be. On impulse, Kazuya promptly declares that they are lovers, forcing Chizuru to play the role. But with Kazuya still hanging up on his former relationship with Mami, how long can this difficult customer and reluctant girlfriend keep up his act?
