Giant Killing

Synopsis: The East Tokyo United (ETU) has fought Japan's main soccer league in recent years. It took everything they have just to avoid relegation. To make matters worse, the team has lost five straight matches, leading to the team's abysmal morale. Even fans are starting to abandon them, and rumors suggest that the municipality of Home Ground will remove its support. With numerous dismissed coaches and bad financial choices in hiring players, it is an ETU descendant spiral.

The board of directors, under pressure from the general manager Kousei Gotou, makes a bet and hires a new coach - the slightly eccentric Takeshi Tatsumi. Although considered a great soccer player when he was younger, Tatsumi abandoned Etu years ago. However, since then, he has been successful as manager of one of England's inferior division amateur teams.

Tatsumi's task will not be easy; ETU fans call him traitor, and the team is confronted against others with larger budgets and better players. However, even the misfortune can overthrow a Goliath, and Tatsumi says he is an expert in killing giant.
