Dororo to Hyakkimaru
Synopsis: To help his conquest of Japan, the cruel Lord Daigo Kagemitsu offers himself to sacrifice his son 48 demons. Demons accept and the next day the child is born with several absent members and is mercilessly thrown into a river.
Fifteen years later, a stubborn boy named Dororo struggles to survive against hunger and oppressive samurai on the streets of an impoverished and devastated village by war. After annoying a group of bandits, Dororo is attacked by them, but a mysterious man interrupts them, claiming hearing spirits nearby. Certainly a monster emerges from the river, and the man removes his prosthetic arms, revealing hidden blades underneath, with which he kills the monster before leaving.
That night, as the man walks through the forest, Dororo approaches him and declares that he will accompany him. From this, the man, Hyakkimaru, reveals that many parts of his body were stolen by demons and that although he sought a peaceful life, he could not escape his relentless attack. Despite the story, Dororo still insists on scoring. And so, Hyakkimaru travels through Japan with his new companion and a puppy called note, facing the brutality of hell and humanity.
