Synopsis: In the 11th year of the Meiji Era, Japan is facing a drastic transformation following the collapse of the shogunate and the banning of swords, creating a tumultuous environment where ex-samurai seek revenge against the new government. It is against this backdrop of instability that Tenka Kumou, a young ferryman and unofficial police officer, works alongside his brothers, Soramaru and Chuutarou, and the former Fuma ninja, Shirasu Kinjou, dedicating himself to a simple life of training and studying.
