Synopsis: An injured man is found in the forest by a girl named Eruuu, and everything about him is mysterious. Without the knowledge of his past even his own name, he is received at Eruuu's house and is named Hakuoro by his grandmother and younger sister, Aruuu. While the village inhabitants have large ears and tails, Hakuoro's defining physical characteristic is quite different, as it has no ears or tails, but only a mask it cannot remove.

Soon after he becomes part of the lives of residents, a revolution began against the Tynic Emperor of the Earth, and the conflict finds his way to his new home. Hakuoro should do what he can to save the people and the village he has come to love while discovering the mysteries that cover his past.

At the end of the manga and Light Novel of UtaWaWarumono, it is revealed that Haku, the protagonist, is actually a clone created by the emperor to be used as a receptacle for his soul.
