Synopsis: Hitohito Tadano is an ordinary boy who enters his first high school with a clear plan: avoid problems and do his best to mix with others. Unfortunately, he fails immediately when he feels next to Madonna from school - Shouko Komi. His colleagues now recognize him as someone to eliminate the chance to sit next to the most beautiful girl in class.
Beautiful and graceful with long, dark hair, Komi is universally worshiped and immensely popular, despite her mysterious personality. However, without knowledge of all, she has disabling anxiety and a communication disorder that prevents her from socializing with her heart with her classmates.
When left alone in the classroom, a chain of events forces Komi interacting with Tadano through writing on the blackboard, as if in a unidirectional conversation. Being the first person to realize that he cannot communicate properly, Tadano takes the chalk and starts writing as well. He finally finds that Komi's goal is to make one hundred friends during his time in high school. For this purpose, he decides to give him a friendly hand, also becoming his first friend.
