Synopsis: The greedy Samurai Lord Daigo Kagemitsu is dying, and he would do anything for power, even renounced the Buddha and made a pact with demons. His prayers are answered by 12 demons that give him the power they want, helping the growth of his city hall, but at a price. When Kagemitsu's first child is born, the boy has no limbs, nose, eyes, ears, not even the skin - but still, he lives.

This child is discarded in a river and forgotten. But luckily, he is saved by a man of medicine who offers him prostheses and weapons, allowing him to survive and defend himself. The boy lives and grows, and although he cannot see, hear or feel anything, he must defeat the demons that have taken him as a sacrifice. With the death of each, he recovers a part of himself that is for his reason. For many years he wanders alone, until one day an orphan boy, Dororo, befriends him. The unlikely pair of castaways now fights for their survival and humanity in a relentless and infested world of demons.
