Suki Desu is a portal focused on creating in-depth content about the Japanese language, Asian culture, and the Otaku universe (Animes and Mangas). Our space also stands out for bringing news about games, Korea, and fascinating curiosities from all over Asia.
Over the years, we have expanded our boundaries. Today, we offer an online Japanese course, maintain partnerships with major names in online education, and develop innovative projects, such as a complete multilingual dictionary, detailed catalogs of animes, and skdojo, our DLE-style gaming site.
The Story Behind the Site My name is Kevin Henrique. Born in 1995, I have always been passionate about computers and technology, but it was at the age of 14 that Japan truly captured my attention through animes, games, and music.
My journey on the web began by developing games on platforms like RPG Maker. When the desire to learn Japanese arose, I decided to create a blog. The initial goal was simple: to avoid procrastination and force myself to study while writing about the language.
What started as a study diary ended up gaining traction. In 2014, with the power of social media, Suki Desu began to dominate Google search results. Professionalization was the natural step, and the company Suki Desu was officially founded in 2015 (CNPJ 22.973.769/0001-29). Thanks to the success of the portal, in October 2016, I realized my biggest dream: to visit Japan in person.
Throughout this journey, I built fundamental friendships and partnerships that helped sustain the project, such as Luiz Rafael (Online Japanese Program) and Rodrigo Coelho (Coelho in Japan).
Our Expansion and the Future I dedicated the following years to specializing in SEO, which allowed us, in 2020, to take Suki Desu to the world. The site was translated into more than 10 languages, reaching a record of 2.5 million monthly visits.
Today, the internet has changed. In an era dominated by short videos and AI-generated texts, dense content written with passion has become a rarity. While many seek the quickest path, we choose depth. We will never give up on bringing authentic content, made by humans and for humans, to those who still love to read about a country as wonderful as Japan.
What awaits us in the future? Suki Desu will continue to evolve. We will present tools, experiences, and solutions that no AI will be able to replace. Be sure to follow us on this journey!
