Anime Fillers – Unnecessary Episodes – Meaning

ESCRITO POR

Do you know what a filler is? This word literally means filler, but is used by anime fans around the world to define the epísodios or bows of an anime series whose plot is not based on the manga or the original work. It can also refer to boring and unnecessary episodes that add absolutely nothing to history.

This usually happens when the studio that is developing the anime needs to coil to not reach the manga in a few episodes or simply because it wants to lengthen the work. Some often use a lot of flashback and prolong battles and travel to lengthen the story. This adds nothing to the story and is generally of lesser quality both visually and narratively.

Many anime’s that are based on short sleeves, need to resort to fillers to maintain the 12 or even 24 episodes. This means that they can be present in closed works, both in small and long anime.

Some manage to be cool and improve the original story of manga, others can actually be annoying and boring, especially when the anime is long and has more than 200 episodes. Thinking about it let’s share a list or guide on how you can avoid annoying fillers of several popular anime.

The word comes from English, derived from the verb to fill which means “to fill in.” Literally an “episode that fills” a space, gaps and time.

DIFFERENT TYPES OF FILLERS IN THE ANIMES AND SERIES

Fillers can happen in any work being Japanese or not, it can be anime, drama, movie and even games. It will all depend on whether the work you are consuming has other original material or not. There are different types of fillers, we can list some below which are:

Filler canon – This one is not present in the original work, but it was written by the original author of the manda or light novel, serving most of the time like real material for the fans of the work. The canon comes from the canonical word. Often this happens when the anime approaches the manga.

Semi-filler is made up of a certain original part of the work (manga and novel) and a certain part is created. Being that this invented part is not present in the manga. This makes the anime longer and making the main story go slower.

Flashbacks – Many authors and directors of anime use flashback characters to fillers, things that are not even present in the original work are added. Repeated flashbacks and things that happened in the past are placed between scenes to add more time in the episode and stay a bit away from the current original material.

Finals fillers – Some short works solve to create a different original end of the sleeve, that in the majority of the times usually is worse or badly. Some animes with known final fillers were Gantz,

Animes to fill sausage – Some animes are totally fillers and are made just to make success on the name of the work. Some anime like Dragon Ball GT and Boruto that has a sleeve, but still remains a filler of sausage.
